Thankfully, this Dalek had a heart in that metal encasing. These children were saved from extermination and wowed by the always generous Doctor Who Society on site once again.

The Dalek robots were all part of a fundraiser on behalf of CHEO by the Doctor Who Society of Canada; a Canadian War Museum teaser for its new exhibition, The Highlands; and a gorgeous Webtoon showcase by South Korean Manhwa artists. DreamHack, Apex Escape Rooms, Games to Go, Combat Archery and other imaginative entertainers shared their skills and delighted adults and children alike with action-packed activities.

It would take weeks to list all the diverse cosplays this year but a good place to catch a lot of them was the Masquerade, a Con favorite that played to a packed house this year. you could also spruce up your geek-ware with over 200 realtors on hand with shirts, dresses and masks!

Visitors had the perilous privilege to take their pictures with the fearsome 501st Legion’s Capital City Garrison, a Star Wars costume club featuring the galaxy’s most infamous foes. An emotional tribute to Peter Mayhew (the original Chewbacca) took place during the stage appearance by Joonas Suotamo, who took over the beloved Wookiee’s mantle in the current saga. Mayhew’s performance and the joy he brought to Star Wars fans all over the world shall never be forgotten.

The Spider-verse was well represented. Outside of the cosplayers, attendees rubbed shoulders, shared anecdotes and took pictures with a galaxy of film and TV stars, headlined by Ron Perlman (Hellboy), Tom Welling (Smallville) , Gina Torres (Firefly), and Mark Sheppard (Supernatural). Other thespians in attendance from the sci-if and fantasy universe included Sean Astin, Catherine Tate, Anthony Rapp, Anston Mount, Amy Jo Johnson, Ethan Peck, Joonas Suotamo, Kevin Conroy, Pom Klementieff, Roger Clark, Tom Cavanagh, and Wallace Shawn.

Panals, Q&As and informative workshops were everywhere, including Catherine Tate being surprised by some Daleks and a visit form The Doctor.

And of course, we found Waldo! Bring on Comiccon 2020!
